Tutorial #1 - Locating Your Computer’s Plain Text Editor

- All you've got to do is follow these lessons, and build as you go.
- If you miss something, like to jump around, or just need to pause the screen, you can use these buttons for more control.
- OK, let's get started right away!
- First off, we'll need to locate our computer's plain text editor.
- We're looking for a program called Windows® Notepad, or SimpleText if you're on a Mac®.
- Other programs you could use are listed in our resources section under the title Text Editors.
- Now, we're going to build the structure of our web page right here in Notepad, using special markers called tags. We will learn about different kinds of tags, and what they each do in the lessons that follow. For now, go ahead and open your plain text editor (Notepad), and then move on to Lesson #2.
