Basic 16 Color Chart

There are 16 basic color names that should be recognized by all conforming web browsers.

In addition to the basic 16, over 100 other color names have been assigned to work in particular web browsers. However, since these other color names do not always look the same in different web browsers, you should avoid using them. If you want to create a specific color for your web pages, then you should create it using the hexadecimal code.

RGB Hexadecimal Color Chart

The following color chart shows the RGB hexadecimal notation for 216 different colors. Each color code has six digits each ranging from 0 (zero) to F. The letters A-F are used to represent the numbers 10-15. The first two digits of each code specify the intensity of red in that color. The middle two digits specify the intensity of green. The last two digits specify the intensity of blue.

You can use the exact code associated with each shade of color below, or you can experiment with changing the numbers to produce a different shade. There are over 16 million different combinations you could come up with.
